Order of operations
There are four operations
-Multiplication,Division=brothers
-Addition,subtraction=sisters
1st: brackets
2nd:exponents
3rd:division or multiply in order form left to right
4th: addition or subtraction in order form left to right
6.4+120x1.25=158
2x3/6+(2-1)=2
Annie has been asked to calculate.1.7+6+2=. She claims the answer is 3.85. Do you agree?Explain why or why not.

No, because the right answer is 4.7
ReplyDeleteI think the right answer is 4.7,because as it said, the division comes first before addition so I divided 6 and 2 then I got 3.After that I add 1.7 to 3 then I got 4.7.
ReplyDeleteBy the way good job!
I don't agree with Annie.I got 4.7 since I divided 6 and 2 then I got 3.Then i added 1.7 that lead me 4.7. Good Job Paulo!
ReplyDeleteno, because the correct answer is 4.7
ReplyDeletegood job man
awsome I espassily liked the coulors
ReplyDeleteI think the right answer is 4.7.
ReplyDeleteBeacuse i divide 6 and 2 .Then i got 3.I add 1.7 the show me 4.7.That how i got the answer...
I think the right answer is 4.7
ReplyDeleteanyways, good job
I disagree because the right answer is 4.7 to do that, I divided 6 and 2 then I got 3 and I added 1.7.. But good scribe..KEEP IT UP.
ReplyDeleteyeah i agree with the other people. I think the answer is 4.7 because 6 in to 2 is 3 and 3+1.7=4.7. anyways good job
ReplyDeleteI think Annie got it wrong because she didn't do BEDMAS, she just did it left to write. Anyways, I got 4.7 and weren't you supposed to put your answer to the problem? Good job by the way.
ReplyDeleteI agree what everybody said, the right answer is 4.7 because 6 divide it to 2 is 3 then add 1.7 equals to 4.7
ReplyDeleteYeah i agree with alec m your suppose to use bedmas it's not always left to right you could start from the middle if it is brackets because brackets are first in bedmas! Well anyway good job.
ReplyDeleteI agree that its 4.7 and by the way Paulo, you put 1.7+6+2= it was supposed to be a division sign between the 6 and 2. Good job though, next time just read over your work.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with annie because maybe she didn't use BEDMAS to answer the equation she just went left to right
ReplyDeleteI think Annie got it wrong because she did'nt do BEDMAS. She just did it left to right. My answer is 4.7. There was supposed to be a division sign between the 6 and 2. But good job on the scribe post.
ReplyDeleteGood Job in designing but the true answer is 4.7.
ReplyDeleteSorry but the answer is 4.7.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with Annie because I think she didn't use the BEDMAS. All she did was add 1.7 to 6 that equals to 7.7 then she divided 7.7 to 2 that equals to 3.85.
ReplyDeleteGood job Paulo!! Keep it up!
great job paulo I dont agree beacuse the answer posts a be 4.7
ReplyDeleteI dont agree because the right answer is 4.7.
ReplyDeleteI think the right answer is 4.7
ReplyDeleteanyways, good job
i disagree because annie didn't follow Bedmas.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Annie because she didn't follow the BEDMAS rule. 1.7+6÷2=4.7
ReplyDeleteI understand how Annie got that answer because that is what I did when I first learning this. Annie went left to right, but she was suppose to do the division before the the addition.
Good jod Paulo A.!
Annie is wrong because she did addition first when Multiplacation/Division is suppose to go first(from left to right). The correct answer is 4.7.
ReplyDeleteAnnie is wrong because she did the addition first and I got 4.7.
ReplyDeleteAnyways good job on your scribe keep it up!
I was gonna say that kevin .. Anyways nice job.
