2 + 5/6 + 5/6 =
2 + 10/6 =
2 6/6 + 4/6 =
2 + 1 + 4/6 = 3 4/6 = 3 2/3









steps:
1. add the whole numbers
2. find common denominator for fractions
3. add the fractions
4. add the whole numbers to the fractions

eg.
1 1/3 + 2 1/3 = 3 2/3

3 1/6 + 2 5/6 = 5 6/6 = 6

3 2/3 + 2/3 = 3/43 = 4 1/3

eg.
1 1/2 + 2 1/3 = 3 2/6 = 3 1/3

2 1/2 + 4 1/6 = 6 4/6 = 6 2/3
